The OnePlus 5’s announcement is right around the corner, and OnePlus has just kicked off a new contest. This new contest is called ‘The Lab: Shot on OnePlus Edition”, and it essentially requires you to show off your photo-taking ability in order to get a chance to get some hands-on time with the upcoming OnePlus 5 flagship. As of now, over 3,000 people have applied, and if you’d like to know more, read on.
Now, in order to participate in this contest, you will need to submit three of your best photographs which were taken by your smartphone. First thing you need to do is follow OnePlus’ Instagram account over at @oneplustech, and fill out the form that is provided down below (source link). Once you do that, you will be required to submit the aforementioned images, though do keep in mind you’ll need to submit them from your Instagram account, at least that’s what OnePlus says in its guidelines for this contest. After the contest ends, OnePlus will go through all the submitted images, and will select 10 winners which will get a chance to receive the OnePlus 5 and start their activities with ‘The Lab’. OnePlus says that this is way for the company to learn from the community, and to improve the camera on its smartphones. Speaking of which, it is worth noting that OnePlus actually joined forces with DxO quite recently, and the company has high expectations for the OnePlus 5’s camera, as DxO is helping the company to improve OnePlus 5’s shooter and it seems like it has been doing that for a while now during the development process.
The OnePlus 5 will land this summer, the company already confirmed that, and it is quite possible that it will be announced next month, as the OnePlus 3 landed back in June 2016. The company also confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will sport a front-facing fingerprint scanner, and that a 3.5mm headphone jack will also be a part of the package. On top of all of that, we also know that the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC will fuel OnePlus’ upcoming flagship. The device is rumored to sport two cameras on its back, and it will ship with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, while more than one internal storage variant will be available.
