SCWS 2017 To Include Speakers From Telefonica, Google & More

The 2017 SCWS World event kicks off next week in London, with experts from companies including Google, BT, Ericsson, Telefonica 02, and AEG Europe, plus many others, set to speak on a variety of topics. This is considered to be the flagship event for companies involved in the small cell, Wi-fi or DAS market, and this year will celebrate its eleventh anniversary. The theme of the event is said to be “Commercializing the Mobile Edge.” This year, the annual SCWS conference, which is organized by Avren Events, will be held in conjunction with LPWA World, the Internet of Things (IoT) network event.

Over four days, the event will include a full opening day of seminars, a conference lasting two days and a whole host of live demonstrations and proof of concept exhibitions, as well as over 100 speakers and panelists from all over the globe set to lead high-level discussions about many subjects which affect those in the market. Scheduled speakers include Karl Liriano, Head of Mobile Access at Telefonica 02, who will speak on day two of the conference, regarding the company’s plans to provide Wi-Fi and enhanced 4G coverage throughout the City of London. Other discussions are expected to include topics such as building the networks of the future, wireless connectivity problems and solutions, and whether multi-operator solutions for buildings such as real estate, arenas, airports, and hotels will still be suitable and fit for purpose in the future. Other topics which will be explored at the event are expected to include SON and MEC, which will be supported with demonstrations, and backhaul.

Earlier this week, one of SCWS’ key partners, the Small Cell Forum, announced the launch of its Enterprise Advisory Council (EAC) which they hope will help to bring all the different sorts of companies involved in Small Cell connectivity, whether they are vendors, businesses, consumers, or operators. They have already begun their first campaign, targeted at the hospitality industry. This year’s event takes place from May 22-25 and will be held at the InterContinental O2 Hotel in London, UK. There is more information available and a chance to register for last-minute tickets on their website.
