Xiaomi Brings Redmi Note 4 & Redmi 4X To Mexico

Xiaomi, in its first ever official presentation in Mexico, has announced that it will bring some of its smartphones to the country starting this month. The company will bring the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and the Xiaomi Redmi 4X to the Mexican market, and the devices will be available both online and offline. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer decided to launch in Mexico as it views the country both as an important market to penetrate and a starting point for the company’s expansion into the Latin American market. Mexico already has 44.2 million smartphone users as of last year but this number is still expected to grow as increased competition and lower device prices entice consumers to buy mobile devices.

In order to reach as many consumers as possible, Xiaomi partnered with numerous online and offline merchants to increase its retail presence in the Latin American country. It is available offline in Coppel, Best Buy, and Sam’s Club. For those who prefer to purchase their smartphones online, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and the Xiaomi Redmi 4X will be available on Amazon, Best Buy, Soriana, Elektra, and Walmart websites. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be available at the end of the month starting at MXN 5,499 (around $285), those interested in the Xiaomi Redmi 4x will have to wait a little longer but Xiaomi stated that it will be available for MXN 3,999 (around $200).

Aside from its smartphones, the company also launched its MiCommunity LATAM platform, which is a platform for Xiaomi fans to connect with each other and participate in certain activities. Active participants in the MiCommunity may get exclusive access to fan and launch events, and products. A dedicated application for the MiCommunity will also be launched in Google Play Mexico this month and will be available in other Latin American countries later on. For Xiaomi, engaging with loyal fans is important as the manufacturer gathers suggestions and comments on how to improve the company’s offerings. Xiaomi thinks that continuous support of the company’s local fans will ultimately help the manufacturer expand its presence, not only in Mexico but also in other Latin American countries.
