The BlackBerry KEYone, the latest device developed by BlackBerry and TCL, is now available for purchase over at Vodafone UK. Thus, consumers interested in buying the BlackBerry KEYone now have the option to purchase the device along with a plan straight from the carrier. Previously, the BlackBerry KEYone had been made available by independent retailers like Selfridges and Carphone Warehouse. Vodafone offers the device in a wide range of postpaid plans, with different upfront costs and monthly payments per plan. The BlackBerry KEYone can be obtained from Vodafone UK through the Red Entertainment plan for as low as £10 upfront payment and monthly payments pegged at £58. This plan gives consumers a monthly data allowance of 60GB and supplemented by unlimited texts and calls to other Vodafone UK subscribers. For those who do not need a lot of data, the BlackBerry KEYone can be purchased from Vodafone with a £100 upfront payment and £36 monthly payment.
The increasing number of outlets and carriers selling the BlackBerry KEYone will surely further contribute to the already positive sales figures of the device. Recently, the BlackBerry KEYone has managed to break pre-order records for BlackBerry-branded devices at the Canadian carrier Rogers. Meanwhile, a TCL executive has previously stated that the demand for the device is quite high that the manufacturer cannot fulfill all the orders for the device. To resolve recent issues regarding the device availability, TCL has been working hard with retailers to immediately fulfill its partners’ orders for the handset.
The BlackBerry KEYone is a refreshing take on an Android smartphone in a world that is currently dominated by glass and aluminum-built devices. The BlackBerry KEYone’s primary stand-out feature is its physical keyboard, which supports gestures for swipe inputs and the assignment of keyboard shortcuts to quickly initiate actions or open applications. The handset’s 4-5-inch display has redesigned to fit the physical keyboard, which resulted in a screen that sports an aspect ratio of 3:2 and a resolution of 1620 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset, which is a mid-range chipset from Qualcomm that focuses more on power efficiency rather than brute performance. Additional features of the device include 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal flash storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, and a 3,505 mAh battery. The unlocked version of the device is currently retailing for $549.99 in the United States.
