A new OnePlus 5 teaser has just surfaced, and it’s hinting at June 20 release date for the device. We’ve seen several leaked images which suggested that the device will be announced on June 15, but this new teaser claims otherwise. This image comes from Weibo (Chinese social network), but it’s not official, so take it with a grain of salt, of course. This teaser does have OnePlus’ branding at the bottom, but we’ll have to wait for more info from the company in order to be sure.
OnePlus did confirm that the device will be announced this summer, while the company also said that it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835, and that it will sport a front-facing fingerprint scanner. The company’s exec also suggested that we’ll see a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the device. Now, OnePlus did release a teaser image recently which suggested that the OnePlus 5 will be smaller than its predecessor, despite the fact the two devices are said to sport the same-sized display. Anyhow, the OnePlus 5 is also said to sport a dual camera setup on the back, even though OnePlus did not specifically confirm that. The phone will probably be made out of metal, and it will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with the company’s OxygenOS skin on top of it.
Now, as per leaked info, the OnePlus 5 will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD or QHD AMOLED display, while it will also pack in 6GB or 8GB of RAM on the inside. You can expect to see several storage variants of this device out there, and DxO is helping OnePlus with OnePlus 5’s camera, so we’re expecting to see a truly compelling shooter on the device. As far as the phone’s pricing is concerned, rumors are reporting that it will be slightly more expensive than its predecessor. Having said that, the OnePlus 3T is priced at $439 at the moment, which was its price at launch as well, so the OnePlus 5 will probably cost somewhere between $450 and $500, but we’re only speculating. In any case, more OnePlus 5 info is expected to pop up soon, so stay tuned.
