Leaked Meizu Pro 7 Schematics Show Secondary Rear Display

Schematics of the Meizu Pro 7 submitted to the Chinese patent office have been leaked, highlighting some of the key features of Meizu’s latest flagship. The leaked schematics corroborate an earlier leaked image originating on the Chinese social media website Weibo that showed the Meizu Pro 7 with a secondary display on its back panel. Given that the CEO of Meizu denied that the Meizu Pro 7 will look like some of the other previously leaked images, it is possible that the newly leaked schematics might depict the final design of the Meizu Pro 7. The function of the secondary display at the back of the device is still not known since the leaked images and schematics do not show any contents on the secondary display. Nonetheless, this could be an interesting feature of the Meizu Pro 7 that may set it apart from the competition not only in its home market but also worldwide, provided that the handset is eventually released globally.

The newly revealed schematics also indicate that the Meizu Pro 7 will have a dual camera setup at its back. At the front, the schematics reveal that the latest flagship device from Meizu will have a physical home button, which may support multiple fingerprint gestures like recent iterations of premium Meizu devices. At the bottom, the leaked images show that the handset will have a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, a headphone jack, and possibly a downward-facing speaker. There are actually two schematics leaked from the Chinese patent office that reveal the entirety of the handset, but it seems that the only major difference between the two is the location and design of their antenna bands.

Insiders previously reported that the Meizu Pro 7 will ship with 6GB or even 8GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage. The dual camera setup of the phone is expected to consist of two image sensors from Sony, namely the Sony IMX386 and Sony IMX286. The device is thought to boast an AMOLED display panel, although there is no definitive word yet on its actual screen size. According to recent rumors, the Meizu Pro 7 will either have a 5.2-inch or a 5.5-inch display.
