Meizu PRO 7's Back Cover Pops Up, Secondary Display Coming?

The Meizu PRO 7 is one of the most anticipated Chinese smartphones of 2017, and the alleged back cover of this smartphone just surfaced. Now, a couple of days ago, several renders of the Meizu PRO 7 appeared, and this newly-leaked back side actually goes hand-in-hand with those renders. If this image looks a bit weird to you, there’s a good reason for it, as the Meizu PRO 7 is now rumored to sport a secondary display on its back, let us explain.

If you take a look at the provided image, you will notice the cutout for the dual camera setup, and right next to it a cutout for a dual-LED, dual tone flash. Well, below the dual camera setup is where the display will lie, allegedly, as there’s clearly some space for… well, something. If previous renders are to be believed, this is where the secondary display will be placed, which is quite interesting, and not something we’ve seen thus far. We have seen devices which have a secondary ink display on the back, but that display takes the whole back side of such phones, basically, this is more subtle, and we’re still unsure what kind of a display will this be. Previously leaked renders did not show us a picture of a phone with a turned on display, so we really don’t know what to expect. All in all, this sounds really interesting, to say the least.

One of Meizu’s executives recently said that the Meizu PRO 7 will look better than the Galaxy S8, which is a huge claim to make, as the Galaxy S8 is one of the best-looking smartphones out there at the moment. The Meizu PRO 7 is expected to arrive in the near future, and if its predecessor is anything to go by, you can expect to see the Helio X30 on this phone, along with a rather compact, 5.2-inch fullHD or QHD AMOLED display. The device will probably pack in 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and it will be made out of metal, or the company may opt to combine metal and glass. Now, there is a chance that Samsung’s Exynos 8895 SoC might fuel this phone, but it most probably will not, as that SoC will be included in the Meizu PRO 7 Plus later this year, at least that’s what is expected to happen.
