Motorola had introduced the Moto C and the Moto C Plus smartphones last month, on May 15, and the regular Moto C handset has just reached India. The Moto C is Motorola’s entry-level smartphone, and it’s extremely affordable, which was to be expected considering its specifications. This phone is made out of polycarbonate, and it has the so-called ‘micro-textured’ back cover. This phone comes with two SIM card slots, and offers VoLTE support as well.
The Motorola Moto C comes with three capacitive buttons which are placed below the phone’s display, while all of its physical keys can be found on the right. The company’s branding is visible on both front and back sides of this phone, and an LED flash is placed below its main camera. The Moto C sports a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display, along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the MediaTek MT6737M 64-bit quad-core SoC clocked at 1.1GHz, along with the Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. A 5-megapixel snapper (1.4um pixel size, 74-degree wide-angle lens) is located on the back of the phone, while you’ll find a 2-megapixel camera (63-degree wide-angle lens) on the device’s front side. A 2,350mAh removable battery is also included in this package, and Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the phone. A 3.5mm headphone jack is placed on the very top of the device, and Bluetooth 4.2 is also included in this package. The device measures 145.5 x 73.6 x 9mm, while it weighs 154 grams.
The Motorola Moto C handset comes in Starry Black and Pearl White color variants, and it costs Rs. 5,999 ($93) in India. The device is already available in the country, and it can be purchased in over 100 cities all over the country. The Moto C is the most affordable Moto-branded smartphone this company has released in 2017, and chances are it will stay that way. Such phones are still selling well in India, however, so it will be interesting to see how many units will Motorola be able to ship before the end of this year. That’s more or less it when it comes to the Moto C, though it’s worth noting that the mid-range Moto Z2 Play smartphone got announced yesterday in Brazil, and it’s possible that it will arrive in India at some point.
