The Essential Phone was announced a couple of days ago, and it comes with very little bezels, well, the company’s next handset will sport no bezel, if the company’s COO is to be believed. In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Niccolo De Masi, Essential’s President and COO, said that the company’s next flagship will be completely bezel-less, his exact words were: “Our Next device will actually swirl all the edges up”. Now, truth be told, we probably won’t see that phone launch until mid-2018, so keep that in mind.
The Essential Phone has a small chin below the display, and it also comes with a front-facing camera which breaks the design in the upper portion of the phone, as you’ve probably already noticed. Now, the company plans to ditch all bezels it seems, and that will be interesting to see, the next Essential handset might even be the first to ditch all bezels, but who knows what will happen until then. The Essential Phone is the first handset Essential released, and Android’s co-founder, Andy Rubin, is leading that company. The Essential Phone sure is an interesting device, though it’s not cheap, you can reserve a copy as we speak for $699 via the company’s official website, and the company will start shipping Essential Phone handsets sometime this month to those of you who ordered them, though we still don’t know when exactly.
Having said that, it’s worth noting that the Essential Phone is a high-end smartphone, this phone is premium no matter what way you’re looking at it. The device is made out of titanium and ceramic, and it looks really nice, while it also packs in high-end specifications. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Adreno 540 GPU for graphics processing. The device also packs in 4GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable native storage, while a 5.71-inch 2460 x 1312 display is also included in this package. There are two 13-megapixel shooters included on the back of the Essential Phone, and a 3,040mAh battery is also included in this package. If you’d like to check out its full spec sheet, click here.
