The purported Nubia Z17s has just leaked online in a press render, along with the upcoming Nubia Z17s Mini. Nubia Mobile was a subsidiary of ZTE (who then sold off part of it) and it aims to offer value-for-money devices with good specifications, at lower costs than other devices with comparable specs. The Nubia Z17s is expected to make its official debut on October 12 and it just got its TENAA certification, revealing powerful specifications. ZTE itself posted two teasers, indicating that the launch event is indeed just around the corner. The Nubia Z17s is expected to build on the existing Nubia Z17 launched earlier this year and take things to the next level.
The Nubia Z17 hit the scene boasting thin bezels around the display, but retaining the standard 16:9 aspect ratio most smartphones have. The Nubia Z17s, meanwhile, is expected to feature similarly thin bezels, but display visuals in an 18:9 aspect ratio like recent flagships from Samsung, LG, and others. The latest press render leaked online comes from trusted tipster SlashLeaks and it shows thin bezels above and below the display, and virtually no side bezels. The leaked render also shows the dual rear camera setup with a red ring around the two lenses and a dual-LED flash, which falls in line with ZTE’s recent teasers. The image further shows dual front cameras, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C port at the bottom, the power button and volume rocker on the right side, and no 3.5mm headphone jack. The Nubia Z17s is expected to sport a 5.73-inch full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), a 64-bit octa-core processor, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage options.
The purported Nubia Z17s Mini has not leaked as extensively as its larger counterpart, but the recent press render from SlashLeaks shows that it borrows many design features from the Nubia Z17s. Aside from the smaller size, however, the Nubia Z17s Mini doesn’t seem to have a fingerprint scanner. The handset comes with dual rear cameras, with each camera sensor surrounded by its own red ring, and a dual-LED flash. The render also shows dual front cameras, a USB Type-C port, and no headphone jack. It’s all still in the rumor state at this point, but it should all become official soon enough as the ZTE Z17s and ZTE Z17s Mini will likely be the stars of the show at Nubia’s October 12 event in China.
