T-Mobile Has A Cheap New Plan For Users Who Don't Want Data

T-Mobile is rolling back to a simpler time with the introduction of a new plan geared at prospective customers who really don’t want or need internet connectivity as part of their plan. The aptly named Unlimited Talk & Text plan includes unlimited text messages and unlimited phone calls for just $25 per month per line – with the ability to sign up for as many as 12 lines. That’s including applicable taxes and fees, as has become a standard carrier feature for T-mobile. Taking things a step further for those who like to travel, it also includes voice and SMS services in Mexico and Canada. Meanwhile, international texting from the U.S. can be added onto the plan for an extra $15 per month and standard rates apply for global calling and messaging to over 140 countries.

That all sounds like a great package but there are one or two caveats to consider. One of the biggest of those drawbacks is that this plan cannot be used for data, whatsoever, though a separate line on a T-Mobile ONE Tablet or other Mobile Internet plan can be added to get a data plan for other devices. That means customers won’t even be able to add any data to their plan, as it hasn’t even been made an option and there is no indication of plans to include that as an option later. That also means the company’s DIGITS program and other data-reliant promotions won’t work with the new plan. Furthermore, there’s no option to have T-Mobile pay off debts to a previous carrier for those who may be tempted to switch to T-Mobile in order to get in on the deal. Insider Hook Up or AutoPay discounts and the recently introduced Netflix deal are not included, either. The primary usage of mobile devices on the plan must also occur from within the U.S.

Thankfully, smartphones can be connected to Wi-Fi for downloading and updating applications, or for using those that require an active internet connection. So this could still be a good value for customers who really don’t need to use data outside of their homes or businesses where access is provided. Signing up for the new plan is simple enough, as anybody interested just needs to visit a T-Mobile retail location or call the carrier’s customer care line. In the meantime, the plans are available starting today and anybody interested in learning more about the new plan itself should head over to the source link below.
