The Nokia 8 Variant With 6GB Of RAM Now Out In Germany

The premium model of HMD Global’s Nokia 8 Android flagship is now out in Germany, boasting 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal flash memory. The handset is being sold on the local iteration of Amazon where it’s priced at just under €739, or approximately $871. This price tag is approximately 40 percent higher to the one attached to the regular variant of the Nokia 8 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space which can also be purchased on Amazon Germany for €528, or $622. The most capable version of the Nokia 8 is only offered in Polished Blue, i.e. the top device shown on the render above. E-commerce company Otto is also selling the Android-powered phone in Germany for a comparable price and allows you to pay for it in installments, though it may not start shipping it immediately like Amazon will, with the retailer stating that all orders need up to three weeks to be processed and sent out for the time being.

Other than having a more powerful memory configuration, the handset is identical to the base model that already made its way to numerous markets around the globe. The Nokia 8 boasts a 5.3-inch IPS LCD panel with a QHD resolution of 2,560 by 1,440 pixels amounting to a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9. The high-end device is powered by the Snapdragon 835, Qualcomm’s premium SoC with eight Kyro cores, four of which are clocked at a maximum operating frequency of 2.5GHz. A Hybrid SIM setup is also part of the package, allowing you to choose between equipping your Nokia 8 with a second Nano SIM card or a microSD one with a capacity of up to 256GB.

The Nokia 8 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and is already being tested for Android 8.0 Oreo which should start rolling out in the coming months, presumably no later than early 2018. The rear panel of the flagship accommodates a 13-megapixel dual-camera setup with a dual-tone flash unit, whereas its top bezel features another 13-megapixel module, all three of which have an aperture of f/2.0. HMD also released a new addition to its growing product family in the form of the Nokia 7 earlier this week and is expected to announce more Android devices shortly.
