OPPO had introduced the OPPO F5 smartphone back in October, in China, and the phone has just been announced in India as well. The OPPO F5 is OPPO’s ‘bezel-free’ smartphone, which comes with a metal body, while its display has rounded corners, like a number of other handsets out there. The OPPO F5 sports a single camera on the back, where its fingerprint scanner lies as well, while its power / lock key is included on the right. The phone’s volume up and volume down keys can be found on the left-hand side of this smartphone, and the phone actually comes with a decent set of specs, this is a well-equipped mid-range handset.
The OPPO F5 sports a 6-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The device is fueled by the Helio P23 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is clocked at 2.5GHz, and which comes with the Mali G71 MP2 GPU. This smartphone comes in two RAM variants to India, both 4GB and 6GB RAM models have been announced, and these two variants come with 32GB and 64GB of expandable storage. The device sports two SIM card slots, while Android 7.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the OPPO F5, and on top of it you’re getting OPPO’s custom UI, ColorOS 3.2. A 16-megapixel shooter (f/1.8 aperture) is included on the back of the OPPO F5, while you will find a 20-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) on the phone’s front side. Speaking of which, the OPPO F5 comes with the AI beauty recognition technology, which is capable of scanning 200 facial recognition spots in order to beautify your selfie shots, and implement a nice bokeh effect at the same time. It’s also worth noting that the phone offers the ‘face unlock’ feature.
A 3,200mAh non-removable battery is included in this package as well, while you’re also getting a 3.5mm headphone jack here, and the same can be said for Bluetooth 4.2 as well. The 3GB RAM variant of the OPPO F5 comes in Black and Gold colors, and it is priced at Rs. 19,990 ($309). The 6GB RAM model, on the other hand, comes in Black and Red color options, and it costs Rs. 24,999 ($387). The 3GB RAM variant will go on sale on November 9, while the 6GB RAM model will not become available until December 2. The company also promised that it will announce the OPPO F5 Youth in December.
