Fossil has unveiled new smartwatches for the Spring and Summer collections for this year, showcasing its new offerings at CES 2018 this week. Part of Fossil’s new collection includes two completely new hybrid smartwatches called the Q Annette and the Q Machine, both of which look like traditional watches and don’t run on Android Wear, but do hold some smarts underneath that allow them to talk to your smartphone, as well as new styles and color options for some of its already available, popular smartwatch models, such as new colors for the Q Explorist , Q Venture, and Q Control.
To start, the Q Annette is a new hybrid smartwatch which will cost between $155 and $175 depending on the options you choose, such as colored leather straps or a metal band, in addition to choosing the color of the watch face. It’s got a battery life of up to six months and will alert you to smartphone notifications and track your activities like steps, calories burned, distance and more. It comes with a 38mm watch case and it uses 7mm straps that are interchangeable. There are also multiple color options for straps as well as the watch cases.
As for the Q Machine, it has all of the same features and functions as the Q Annette, so that means it’s capable of tracking activities and delivering smartphone notifications, but there are some differences to make note of. First, it comes with a larger watch case measuring at 45mm and it comes with wider straps that are 24mm which are also interchangeable. The battery life is also double, lasting one year instead of six months. When it comes to the new colors for the Q Explorist and Q Venture, Fossil doesn’t mention how many new colors there are but they will be around the same cost as the already available color options for both models. It’s also unclear when the new colors will launch, and so far there hasn’t been any release date on the new Q Annette or the new Q Machine watches beyond that they should be launching sometime in the Spring and/or Summer. With that said it’ll be at least a few months before consumers are able to get their hands on them.
