ZTE had introduced the foldable Axon M smartphone back in October, and we’ve managed to get some hands-on time with this phone during this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. In the gallery down below, you’ll be able to find hands-on images with the device, just in case you’d like to take a closer look at the phone. Having said that, the ZTE Axon M basically looks like two phones were glued one to the other, and when you use its feature to display one screen across both devices, you do get a rather thick black bar across the display, where the two phones meet, which definitely affects the experience.
This is ZTE’s first smartphone of this kind, and in addition to those side bezels, the ZTE Axon M also comes with a rather thick top and bottom bezels. Now, once you connect those two phones that make the ZTE Axon M, and you use their displays as one, you will get a rather large 6.75-inch panel. This phone consists out of two fullHD (1920 x 1080) displays, and these are LCD panels, in case you were wondering. The ZTE Axon M does come with a microSD card slot for memory expansion, and a 3,180mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, which was Qualcomm’s flagship processor for 2016. That being said, the phone also comes with dual speakers, and Dolby Atmos support is also included here. Android 7.1.2 Nougat comes pre-installed on the ZTE Axon M, though the company did add its own software features on top of Google’s operating system.
On the back of the ZTE Axon M, you will find a 20-megapixel camera, while that camera can be used as its front-facing shooter, as this is a foldable smartphone, and you do have displays on both sides when it is not folded out. The phone packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while it is 12.2mm thick, in case you were wondering. Bluetooth 4.2 is also a part of this package, and both displays of the device are protected by a sheet of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.
