Hisense took to the latest iteration of the Consumer Electronics Show to announce six new lineups of 4K smart TVs planned to be released over the course of this year, revealing a wide range of devices that cater to virtually every demographic. The firm’s flagship offering is the 75-inch H10E TV whose ULED implementation and supporting technologies allow for over 1,000 backlight zones. Besides a 120Hz refresh rate, the Android TV-powered device is compatible with both the Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa, in addition to being able to take advantage of Dolby Vision, arguably the best HDR standard in the industry.
The new H9E Plus series consists of the Chinese company’s flagship offerings for 2018 which take the 55-inch and 65-inch form factor. The ULED screens offered by the H9E Plus models support 4K resolution, Dolby Vision, 120Hz refresh rates, local dimming, and Bluetooth audio capabilities, the company said. The devices run Google’s Android TV out of the box, meaning that the Google Assistant and voice controls are both part of the package. Consumers who are more invested in Amazon’s artificial intelligence ecosystem can instead use Alexa to control the bezel-less H9E Plus-series devices. The newly announced H9E lineup is somewhat similar to Hisense’s ultra-premium one, with the major exception being HDR support as it only ships with HDR10 compatibility and can’t take advantage of Dolby Vision. On the other hand, it provides consumers with much more choice in regards to screen real estate as it encompasses five models with diagonals ranging from 50 to 86 inches. Likewise, these offerings don’t ship with Android TV but the company’s proprietary Hisense Smart TV platform, though the operating system still boasts with a wide variety of pre-installed apps and is compatible with Amazon’s Alexa-enabled devices.
Hisense also unveiled the new H8E series which includes 4K ULED TV models with screen diagonals spanning from 43 to 65 inches and provides a significant upgrade over the 2017 lineup in terms of the overall form factor as it’s 40 percent thinner and thus boasts a sleeker design. Local dimming is also part of the package here, as is Bluetooth audio support and the Hisense Smart TV OS. The new R7 series is also thinner than the previous devices, with Hisense managing to reduce its thickness by approximately 30 percent while still offering Motion Rate 120 support. This particular product family includes four models, with the smallest one being a 43-inch affair and the largest TV featuring a 65-inch display, whereas all boast Roku TV support. Finally, Hisense is also launching five H6E-series 4K TVs powered by its proprietary OS and coming with support for both HDR10 and Motion Rate 120, with their screen sizes being identical to their R7 counterparts. The company’s latest offerings will all be available for purchase in the first half of the year.
