Hisense Brings Amazon Alexa to Select 2018 4K TV Models – CES 2018

Hisense today announced that it is bringing Amazon Alexa support over to some of its 2018 4K Smart TV models. Hisense is expected to announce its 2018 lineup of TV’s at CES next week in Las Vegas. While we don’t know which models will get Alexa support just yet, we do know that the Hisense 100-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart Laser TV is gaining support. The Laser TV was announced late last year, and has been a very popular product for the company.

Hisense is one of the few TV manufacturers out there that actually creates its own smart TV platform. With its smart TV platform, you are able to access some of your favorite apps like Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube, TikiLIVE and so many more. With Alexa support included, you’ll be able to control things like changing inputs, controlling volume and other primary controls with your voice. It’s not full on voice control, yet, but it is a start. Alexa integration is something that Hisense is starting now and will be evolving over the coming months and years, similar to Alexa itself. Aside from just a few TV controls though, users are able to do some shopping with Alexa on their TV, and use the other skills that are already available for Alexa, there are currently 10,000 skills available. Hisense also has its HiSmart AC and Dehumidifier that work with Alexa, which were announced just a few weeks ago.

Alexa is making its way into virtually everything you use in your home, and that is exactly what Amazon wants with Alexa. So that you are using Alexa for everything and she can truly become your personal assistant. Hisense has already added Alexa to other products in its portfolio, other than TV’s, but it is nice to see it on the TV, especially since you won’t need to buy a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick to get Alexa on your brand new Hisense TV now. Hisense is holding a press conference at CES next week, where it is slated to announced some new TV’s. It will also be demoing Alexa support at its booth in Las Vegas next week.
