iOttie Unveils New Qi Wireless Charging Products – CES 2018

Smartphone accessory manufacturer iOttie recently unveiled its latest lineup of wireless fast charging solutions at CES, including charging pads for the home as well as wireless charging mounts for car dashboards. Nearly all of these products feature Qi wireless fast charging technology which means that they should be compatible with any smartphone that meets this wireless charging standard. Availability and pricing will differ based on each product, and the car dashboard mounts will be the first to hit the shelves before the end of the month.

Starting off with the iON Wireless Fast Charging Pad, the product is wrapped in fabric and will be available in multiple colors. It features an additional USB-A port for charging an extra phone in a more conventional way, and sports anti-slip silicone pads for the wireless charging area, as well as an LED charging indicator. On the other hand, the iON Wireless Mini Fast Charging Pad adopts a similar fabric wrapped design as the aforementioned model and seems to feature the same hardware characteristics, except it lacks a USB-A port and instead promotes a more compact design. Next in line is the iON Wireless Charging Stand which, as suggested by the moniker, adopts a vertical stand-like design. It’s still wrapped in the same fabric as before and also includes an LED charging indicator, but features two Qi charging coils for portrait and landscape viewing. Next up is a dedicated wall charging station featuring Qi wireless charging capabilities, called the iON Home Wireless Power Station. It also adopts a vertical design but holds connected devices in place through four rare earth magnets. It features a 3-stage light switch, a light sensor, one USB Type-C connector and two AC receptacles, as well as a USB Type-1 port with QC 3.0 (Quick Charge), and three USB Type-A connectors. Lastly, the device features a spool system at the back which should help with better cable management.

Another iOttie power station unveiled at CES is the iON Home Power Station, once again coming as a dedicated wall charging solution, but lacking Qi wireless charging capabilities. It only features one USB Type-A with QC 3.0, three standard USB Type-A ports without QC, a USB Type-C connector and two AC receptacles. Once again the device has a cable management system as well as a light sensor. Finally, iOttie’s latest lineup includes two wireless charging mounts designed to fit to a car’s dashboard. One can be attached to the CD slot and the other can be mounted on an air vent. The Easy One Touch Wireless Charging CD Slot Mount is compatible with smartphones measuring anywhere between 58.42mm and 95.25mm in width, while the Easy One Touch Wireless Fast Charging Air Vent Mount can hold devices measuring 58.42 to 88.9mm. Availability wise, the iON Wireless Fast Charging Pad, Mini Pad, and Stand will launch in Q1 2018, the iON Home Power Station will be available in Q2, and the Home Wireless Power Station alternative will launch “later this year.” Meanwhile, the car dashboard mounts will launch this January for the price of $54.95 each.
