JLab Audio Details Epic Air Earphones With 6-Hour Battery Life – CES 2018

JLab Audio arrived at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show to announce its latest offering in the form of the Epic Sport Wireless Earbuds and also showcased its truly wireless earphones called Epic Air which were released last year as a mid-range product with excellent battery life. The cell powering the earbuds is rated for up to six hours of use on a single charge which the company claims is the best performance in its class and is even vastly superior to some ultra-premium devices. With a recommended price of $149.99, JLab is hoping that its newest creation will prove to be an attractive proposition for consumers on the lookout for value-oriented earphones that don’t require them to break the bank in order to experience high-resolution audio and energy-efficient performance. The product can already be ordered directly from the manufacturer on a global level.

The Bluetooth 4.1 support of the Epic Air is enabled by an aptX antenna which is advertised as another major selling point of the earphones, allowing for a stronger connection between the accessory and a compatible Android or iOS smartphone. The antenna earhook of the Epic Air is presently in the process of being patented and the overall performance of the gadget is said to be extremely reliable, with the engineering effort that went into it supposedly minimizing any chances of skips and disconnections. Essentially, both Epic Air earbuds have an antenna of their own so whichever one is closer to the source of the audio signal is the one that ends up being the main one responsible for delivering the audio to the speakers. The IP55-certified resistance to the elements allows you to not worry about any dust, splashes of water, or sweat damaging the device, though the earphones aren’t entirely waterproof.

Both earbuds have a microphone of their own and come with support for the Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri. The Epic Air charging case has a 2,000mAh capacity, allowing you to recharge your accessory at least five teams and enjoy over 30 hours of wireless audio without having to find a power outlet. The case itself can be recharged via a USB or microUSB port, whereas the earbuds also support touch controls.
