Meizu has just released a new teaser on its official Weibo (Chinese social network), confirming that the Meizu M6S will be announced on January 17. This smartphone is also known as the Blue Charm S6 in China, and it will become the company’s first smartphone to sport an 18:9 display aspect ratio, which is something this teaser also confirms, in a way, at least that’s what the plate in an image is suggesting, and some previous rumors also confirmed it.

Now, the Meizu M6S did leak a couple of times thus far, and it seems like the phone will sport a side-facing fingerprint scanner, while it will not ship with Meizu’s physical mBack multifunctional button, it will instead arrive with a virtual key which may also be multifunctional, we don’t have that much info regarding all that just yet. Now, if previous rumors and leaks are to be believed, the Meizu M6S will be made out of metal, its back side will be curved, and this phone will be released under the company’s ‘mBlu’ brand. The device will utilize on-screen button(s), and its display will sport rounded corners. The device will be fueled by the Exynos 7872 64-bit hexa-core processor, according to rumors. And the device will sport a 5.7-inch display, at least if TENAA is to be believed. The phone will arrive in both 3GB and 4GB RAM variants, the former will arrive with 32GB of internal storage, while the latter will sport 64GB of internal storage.

A 2,930mAh non-removable battery will also be a part of this package, and the phone will also offer some sort of fast charging, quite probably Meizu’s proprietary ‘mCharge’. A 13-megapixel snapper is said to be included on the back of this smartphone, while a 5-megapixel shooter will be placed on the front side of the device. It is quite obvious that this will be the company’s mid-range smartphone, as we’re waiting for Meizu to introduce the Meizu 15 Plus flagships which is said to arrive in the Sprint, though we still do not know when exactly. Having said that, the Meizu M6S will be announced in about two weeks, so stay tuned for that, it’s possible that more leaks will pop up in the meantime.

UPDATE: the company has reached out in the meantime, and shared global teaser posters for the upcoming Meizu M6S, while Meizu also confirmed that the phone will be called the ‘M6S’, and that it will ship with an 18:9 display.
