Ring has just announced a bunch of new IoT products at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. The company has decided to unveil Stick Up Cams, Ring Beams, and the Ring Alarm, though, in addition to that, Ring also announced its so-called ‘Ring Protect Plan’. Having said that, let’s kick things off by talking about the new hardware that Ring introduced at CES 2018, and you can check out most of these products in the gallery down below, those are all the images that the company shared.
The first gadget that we’ll talk about is the Stick Up Cam, which is essentially a security camera. This security camera sports that modern camera look, and it’s battery-powered, so you won’t have to deal with cables and what not. This camera can be used both indoor and outdoor, as it is weatherproof, says the company. The Stick Up Cam offers the two-way audio feature, while it can record fullHD video. This camera is equipped with a Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR), which are used for motion sensing, they can basically monitor a particular part of your yard and notice if there’s anything moving there. The Ring Stick Up Cam is compatible with the company’s Solar Panel Charger, says Ring. The company has also announced the Stick Up Cam Elite, next to the regular model, and these two cameras look almost identical. The Stick Up Cam Elite can also be used both indoor and outdoor, it sports the two-way audio feature, and it is equipped with advanced motion sensors with zone detection. This camera can also shoot fullHD video, though it is not battery-powered.
Ring has also introduced ‘Ring Beams’ at CES 2018, which is essentially a family of the company’s smart lights. Ring actually acquired Mr. Beams recently, a company which manufactures innovative LED lighting products. Having said that, Ring Beams are outdoor security lights, and they integrate with both the company’s Ring app, and also Ring’s security cams and doorbells. This category of products includes Pathway lights, Step lights, and Spotlights. The Ring Alarm is yet another product that got announced, and the company said that it will start shipping in Spring 2018, while the bundles will start at $199. The Ring Alarm consists out of the base station, keypad, contact sensor (for your window or door), Passive Infrared Sensor (PiR) and the Z-Wave Extender. As far as Ring Protect Plan is concerned, it offers 24/7 professional monitoring, says Ring, and it also includes cloud video storage for an unlimited amount, as long as footage from Ring’s devices is being stored, of course. All of the aforementioned products / offers will become available at some point this year.
