OnePlus had introduced the Sandstone White OnePlus 5T about a week ago, and the device was made available for purchase today, but it seems like there were not enough units for everyone, as the device is already sold out. OnePlus acknowledged this by sending out a tweet recently, containing an image of the Sandstone Edition OnePlus 5T, and a caption which says that the phone was sold out in less than two hours.
Having said that, the company did not say when will the phone be available for purchase yet, or will it be available at all. Now, it’s safe to presume that it will become available once again in the near future, but considering that this is a special edition variant of the phone, who knows. The Sandstone White OnePlus 5T is completely identical to the Star Wars Edition OnePlus 5T, save for one detail, it doesn’t contain Star Wars branding on its back. The Sandstone White OnePlus 5T sports a white-colored back, which comes with an overlay of Sandstone material, which is far grippier than the smooth metal that OnePlus usually includes on phones, and which is included on the back of the regular OnePlus 5T model. Do keep in mind that this Sandstone finish is not identical to the one on OnePlus’ Sandstone cases, though, this material is less rigid, and some would say somewhat less grippy, but it’s still far grippier than regular, polished metal. Having said that, the Sandstone White OnePlus 5T shares the same specs as the 8GB RAM variant OnePlus 5T (regular model).
This handset sports a 6.01-inch fullHD+ Optic AMOLED display, along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, and it comes with a 3,300mAh non-removable battery. Speaking of which, OnePlus’ Dash Charge fast charging is also a part of this package, and the phone comes with two SIM card slots. A fingerprint scanner is located on the back of the device, while the phone comes with really thin bezels, and facial recognition technology as well. The Sandstone White OnePlus 5T is priced at $599 / €559, same as the regular 8GB OnePlus 5T.
