Elephone has released two new promo videos for its new smartphones, the Elephone U and U Pro. Both of those videos have been published on the company’s YouTube page, and both of them have been embedded down below for your convenience. The first video demonstrates the ‘Magic Light’ functionality of the Elephone U and U Pro, and if you’re wondering what that is, well, when you’re receiving a call, left and right edges of the device (display edges) will light up, but not all the way. If you check out the video down below, you will notice that vertical light stripes appear when you have an incoming call, and they’re basically dancing around until you answer.
The second video that the company released is a bit longer, it lasts almost a minute. This video focuses on the Elephone U and U Pro’s ‘Face ID’ feature. Now, as you can probably tell by the name of this feature, you can let the Elephone U and U Pro scan your face, as a security measure. Once you do that, you can unlock the device using your face, all you have to do is hit the power / lock key, and the phone will use its front-facing camera in order to scan your face, if the scan is successful and it verifies it’s you, you’ll be able to use the device. Now, if you prefer to use a fingerprint scanner, you have that option as well, as a fingerprint scanner is included below the dual camera setup on both the Elephone U and Elephone U Pro. Elephone had actually introduced these two smartphones in Spain quite recently, and both phones are currently available for purchase on GearBest.
Both the Elephone U and U Pro comes with a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) curved AMOLED displays, which are protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Both phones include 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, while you will find two 13-megapixel shooters on the back of the Elephone U and U Pro. The Elephone U is fueled by the Helio P23 64-bit octa-core processor, while the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels the Elephone U Pro. The Elephone U comes with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, while the U Pro model ships with Android 8.0 Oreo. Elephone did say that Oreo is coming to the regular Elephone U variant, though. The Elephone U Pro also comes with wireless charging, which is a feature that the company did not include in the Elephone U.
