A new device from the smartphone manufacturer Motorola has successfully passed through the certification process of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This variant, which can be identified by the model number XT1925, will likely be launched in the United States as the dual SIM model of the Moto G6, and the certification of the smartphone means that the handset will likely be sold in the US in the near future. Based on the documents submitted by the tech company to the telecommunications regulator, this variant of the Moto G6 will sport connectivity features like 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 LE. In addition, the device will also support Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). The submitted documents also indicate that the handset will be compatible with 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA, and 4G LTE networks.
Earlier leaks already provided details about the specifications and the pricing of the Moto G6. It has been reported that the Moto G6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 450 chipset from Qualcomm. This SoC is comprised of an octa-core ARM Cortex A53 64-bit CPU running at a maximum frequency of 1.8GHz, and an Adreno 506 GPU. In addition, rumors indicate that the handset will sport a display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, although there is no available information regarding the resolution of the device’s panel. Previous reports, as well as the documents submitted to the FCC, mention that the Moto G6 will contain a 3,000mAh battery to keep its lights on. The Moto G6 will likely be sold in variants that contain 32GB of internal flash storage and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and the device is also rumored to sport a 16-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter.
Previous reports also claim that the Moto G6 will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo pre-installed, which means that the users of the smartphone can take advantage of features like Picture-in-Picture mode and notification dots. The Picture-in-Picture mode permits users to view two applications at the same time by showing one app in a smaller window, which is placed on top of another application, while the notification dots alert the user on which apps have notifications directly on the home screen. Earlier reports indicate that in India, the Moto G6 will ship with a price tag of $234, although the price may change in other areas where the handset will be available.
