N-Tech startup has successfully crowdfunded its latest Indiegogo campaign for an all-in-one Smart 4K Projector featuring surround-sound speakers and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, all wrapped in a package that is compact enough to fit in a backpack. The unit can project 4K images with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 at a rate of 60 frames per second, from distances between 0.8-to-9-meters. After a successful campaign, the N-Tech Smart 4K Projector is now scheduled to ship to early backers in July and August 2018, depending on tier.
The N-Tech Smart 4K Projector features a cylindrical modular design comprised of three main pieces that snap together to create a whole, and each module takes advantage of wireless charging technology to transfer power to one another. The lower module accommodates a series of four 3W speakers and the upper module contains the projector, while the middle piece sandwiched between the top and bottom segments carries a battery rated for up to 8 hours of usage. The projector also features a 360-degrees omnidirectional stand allowing it to rotate around its axis, and can also be placed upright to project images on the ceiling. With built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, users can stream content from mobile applications, and the device also sports an HDMI port as well as built-in storage, allowing users to upload content for offline viewing.
In terms of detailed specifications, the N-Tech projector runs Android 7.1 Nougat and is powered by an Amlogic S912 chipset coupled with 3GB of DDR3 RAM. It promises 1500 ANSI Lumens levels of brightness and a 50.000:1 contrast ratio, and can display 920 million colors while providing HDR support, as well as Active Shutter 3D functionality. The unit supports H.265, H.264, MPEG-4, WMC/VC-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-1, and RealVideo hardware decoding, and all the components are wrapped in a package weighing 2.5Kg. The N-Tech Smart 4K Projector had a crowdfunding goal of $25,000 which was already met nearly seven times over, and the campaign has one month left to go at the time of this writing. The product will launch in silver and white for a standard price of $1,099 which would place it lower than Sony’s Xperia Touch projector, however, early backers still have the option of pledging $475 and up in order to secure a unit at a discount.
