Sony Announces Pricing for Its 2018 Line of 4K Android TVs

Sony has just announced pricing for its newest 4K HDR Smart TVs that run on Android TV. These are the XBR-X900F, and the XBR-X850F. For the X900F lineup, the 55-inch is going to cost $1499, the 65-inch for $2299 and the 75-inch for $3999. On the flip side, the X850F has the 65-inch for $1999 and the 75-inch for $3299. These will be available at Sony’s online store, as well as Best Buy and Amazon in the very near future.

There are a few differences between the X900F and the X850F, including the processor. the X900F sports the 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, while the X850F has the 4K HDR Processor X1. The X900F also has Object-based HDR remaster, Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR and Dual database processing. What this means is that you’re going to get an incredible looking picture, even when you are watching content that is not 4K resolution. It also features X-Motion Clarity, and that will help to keep fast action programs like sports, smooth and clear. Of course it has a TRILUMINOS display, as expected from Sony, which uses a wider color palette for an even better picture. Finally, Sony touts that the X900F is designed to fit seamlessly with the HT-X9000F soundbar from Sony, which is a Dolby Atmos-compatible soundbar.

When it comes to the X850F, you do get 4K X-Reality PRO, which up-scales standard definition and high definition content to 4K HDR quality. It also has Object-based HDR Remaster technology, similar to the X900F. It also has a TRILUMINOS Display, which provides some vivid colors and authentic images on the panel. The X850F is a slightly cheaper TV than the X900F series, and the main difference between the two is the image processor that is included, of course the X900F does also come in the smaller 55-inch model, if that is something you’re more interested in. These are all sporting Android TV, so you’ll get all of your favorite apps and games right there on your TV. Sony has not mentioned pricing for any of its other TV’s from CES, like the new BRAVIA OLED TV, but that should be coming in the very near future.
