A new Kickstarter project, dubbed the AIUR Hi-Fi Speaker, aims to make it easier for users to listen to music and answer calls through gesture recognition. People who designed this smart speaker noted that while there are already a number of audio products that can be controlled through gestures, most of the competing devices only support a limited set of functions. In contrast, the AIUR Hi-Fi Speaker offers ten different gesture controls, which allows the user to switch between songs, adjust the volume of the speaker, pair the product with other devices via Bluetooth, answer or end calls, and play or pause songs. The device can detect gestures from a distance of up to 11 inches (27 centimeters) and it utilizes both pattern recognition algorithm and a 15-millimeter sensor module to recognize the movements.
In addition to its gesture control functionality, the AIUR Hi-Fi Speaker also comes with features that improve the listening experience of the user. The device maker claims that the speaker is capable of offering high-quality bass and clear vocals through the product’s dual speakers and bass amplifier. Moreover, the device is capable of automatically optimizing its audio quality by adjusting its configuration based on its surroundings. In addition, the speaker also takes advantage of a patented echo cancellation and noise reduction technology dubbed as the “F-Round”. Another hardware feature of the AIUR Hi-Fi Speaker is the LED light indicator, which changes color to alert the user that the device has recognized the gesture. The device also includes a 6,000mAh rechargeable battery, which allows the device to operate for 12 hours on a single charge. The battery can be charged within two hours through its USB Type-C port and the speaker automatically shuts off when there is no music being streamed in order to save power. The product also comes with IPX6 water resistance rating, which allows consumers to use the device while in the bathroom or outdoors.
Interested consumers may still back the project on Kickstarter until April 22nd. The device maker is offering one AIUR Hi-Fi Speaker for as low as $79, while two units of the device can be obtained for at least $169. The team behind the product promises to ship the device by July 2018, although the trial production for the device already began last month.
