Yet another Huawei P20 Lite mid-ranger leaked online earlier this week, having been featured in a newly emerged hands-on video and a number of real-life photographs shared by several sources. The handset was sighted alongside its retail packaging which is entirely white and features gold writing, with Huawei already having a track record of using a similar design for its product boxes. The leaked device is entirely in line with previous alleged depictions of the next Android mid-ranger from the Chinese company, having been shown with a small display notch that houses its front-facing sensor array and a loudspeaker, whereas its screen is of the 18:9 variety.
The Huawei P20 Lite features a dual-camera setup entailing two vertically arranged lenses with a dual-LED flash situated in the top left corner of its rear plate, with the system itself being designed by Leica, according to the new leak. The two 26mm lenses are of the aspherical variety, thus having flatter curves and slimmer physical footprints than conventional photography glass. Huawei and Leica already commercialized similar technologies on a number of occasions, having been doing so since 2016 and the P9 series of Android flagships. A circular fingerprint reader is also part of the upcoming mid-range package, centered about a quarter of the way down its back panel, as seen in the new leaks.
While the Shenzhen-based tech giant is expected to launch the Huawei P20 Lite in Europe and select Asian markets this spring, the smartphone is also expected to be released in its home country as the Huawei Nova 3e, whereas its subsidiary Honor may also end up rebranding the product later this year. The P20, P20 Pro, and the P20 Lite are all scheduled to be officially announced on March 27 in Paris, France. The new product family should follow in the footsteps of the Mate 10 lineup and place a large focus on artificial intelligence and mobile photography, as suggested by previous rumors and Huawei‘s own teasers.
