Industry insider Evan Blass leaked an image of the Moto E5 Supra earlier today. It is rumored that the Moto E5 Supra will be a variant of the Moto E5 Plus exclusive to the American mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Cricket Wireless. The industry insider did not provide any information regarding the pricing and the hardware of the handset, although the leak indicates that the Moto E5 Supra will be available in black.
Late last month, Blass also leaked an image of the light blue color variant of the Moto E5 Plus. This leaked image provided information regarding the design of the upcoming device. There are two cutouts on the rear panel of the Moto E5 Plus, although only one cutout actually contains the handset’s single rear camera. The handset is also expected to sport a display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, although there is no word yet regarding its supported resolution. In contrast, the Moto E5 and the Moto E5 Play will both sport screens with a more conventional aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, recent rumors claim. Users will find the logo of the device maker below the display of the Moto E5 Plus, while the earpiece and the front-facing selfie shooter are unsurprisingly situated on its top bezel. It is also rumored that like other smartphones from the Moto E5 series, the Moto E5 Plus will be powered by an entry-level chipset from either Qualcomm or MediaTek.
Aside from the Moto E5 Plus, it has also been reported that the Moto E5 Play will be sold by Cricket Wireless. This variant will be named as the Moto E5 Cruise, according to recent reports, and despite the difference in the name, it is expected to sport identical hardware specifications as other Moto E5 Play models. Once it launches, the Moto E5 Cruise will add to the list of entry-level smartphones that Cricket Wireless has started offering to its subscribers within the past few months. Among the entry-level devices offered by the carrier are the Alcatel Verso and the LG Fortune 3, both of which are being offered for free to customers who will switch to the network operator and sign up for the company’s unlimited data plans.
