Leak: BlackBerry Ghost Pro Headed For India

A recently leaked image has surfaced of the BlackBerry Ghost Pro, a presumably more powerful version of the BlackBerry Ghost that was leaked back in February. Like the Ghost, the upcoming Ghost Pro will be a licensed phone from Optiemus, and appears to have a bezel-less screen just like the standard model. For now, the only information available about the Pro model is what can be gathered from this image above and the details in the leak, which is limited to who the licensee is and what market the phone will be sold in.

This means there’s no way to guarantee that the Ghost Pro will be a more powerful version of the Ghost, both of which are said to be codenames for their respective handsets, but the “Pro” in the name would suggest that the internal hardware components being used will make this a more powerful phone, so consumers in the region whenever it launches should be able to expect better specifications. Something worth considering is that the Ghost is being referred to as a “premium” smartphone that will likely be targeting consumers looking for top-tier devices, so it’s likely that the Ghost Pro will be an even more premium smartphone, though this hasn’t been confirmed and if it is more premium it isn’t clear how much more.

What is certain is that the phone will come without a keyboard unlike the KEYone, a different device that was launched by BlackBerry Mobile and TCL last year. Speaking of BlackBerry Mobile, the company has recently started up a loyalty program called the BlackBerry Smartphone Fan League, which attempts to entice users to show support for BlackBerry Mobile and BlackBerry devices on social media, with potential to win rewards like BlackBerry-branded merchandise, or even BlackBerry smartphones if you’re one of the lucky ones. Both phones are expected to launch soon but no exact dates or time frames have been mentioned.
