A new rumor has just surfaced, and it is Meizu 15-related. According to the provided info, the Meizu 15 flagship will not sport a display notch, like many other devices do these days. ASUS’ new flagship, the ZenFone 5Z has it, for example, while the OPPO R15 will also ship with a notch. These are only some examples, but quite a few companies have decided to adopt a notch, and the iPhone X is definitely the main reason for that, as that phone started it all. In any case, this rumor also claims that the phone will be announced in April, following the launch of the Meizu E3, which will be announced later this month.
The Meizu 15 will sport a ‘full-screen design’, which probably means that it will have really thin bezels all around. The device is also rumored to ship with a 5.5-inch OLED display, though it is still unknown as to what SoC will fuel this handset. Meizu basically announced that it will cooperate with all three main SoC manufacturers in 2018, including Qualcomm, Samsung, and MediaTek, so it remains to be seen what processors will fuel the Meizu 15, but do expect to see a high-end chip, so it will probably be the Snapdragon 845, Exynos 9810 or the MediaTek Helio X30. It is worth noting that the source is referring to the Meizu 15, and not the Meizu 15 Plus, as it seems like the company is planning to release its new flagship in two different sizes, as the ‘Plus’ model will probably include a considerably larger display than its sibling. It is still unknown whether the Meizu 15 Plus will also be more powerful, or will the two handsets sport similar specs.
The Meizu 15 is expected to be made out of metal, though nothing has been confirmed just yet. Both the Meizu 15 and 15 Plus had surfaced a number of times thus far, though it is quite possible that none of those leaks were accurate, as neither of the two phones surfaced in the last couple of weeks. Both the Meizu 15 and 15 Plus will probably ship with a side-facing fingerprint scanner, though, while the two phones will also include Meizu’s ‘Halo Button’, which is essentially a multifunctional on-screen key, which is also sensitive to pressure.
