A photograph showing the blue variant of the Huawei P20 Lite has been leaked on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo. The image leaked on the social networking site shows the blue rear panel of the device. The back panel contains the dual rear cameras of the handset, the LED flash, and the rear fingerprint scanner for quickly unlocking the device. The leak did not include a photograph of the front panel of the smartphone, although the Chinese telecommunications regulator TENAA already released an image of the device’s front panel a few days ago.
Recent reports state that the Huawei P20 Lite will be powered by the Kirin 659 chipset, which is comprised of an octa-core 64-bit CPU and the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The TENAA listing mentions that the device will include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage, which could be expanded using a microSD card with a capacity of up to 256GB. Also according to TENAA, the Huawei P20 Lite will sport a 5.84-inch display with a resolution of 2280 by 1080 pixels. Above the display, users will find a notch that contains the handset’s front-facing selfie camera, the earpiece, and sensors, while below the display users will see the logo of the Chinese device maker. The rear camera of the smartphone will be equipped with one 16-megapixel sensor and one 2-megapixel sensor. The latter sensor could likely be used for depth sensing and background blurring. The front-facing selfie camera, on the other hand, will have a 24-megapixel camera. To keep its lights on, the handset is expected to sport a 2,990mAh battery. Moreover, previous reports state that the smartphone will likely ship with Android 8.0 Oreo pre-installed, although the smartphone manufacturer’s proprietary skin, EMUI 8.0, will likely run on top of Google’s operating system.
The Huawei P20 Lite will likely be launched in Paris on March 27th, alongside the Huawei P20 and the Huawei P20 Pro. According to the TENAA listing, the Huawei P20 Lite will be available in four color options, namely black, blue, gold, and pink. It is expected that the device will be priced at €370 in Europe, which translates to $455 at the current exchange rate. More information regarding the availability and pricing of the smartphone will likely become available during the handset’s launch.
