The OnePlus 5T, OnePlus’ flagship smartphone, is now available for purchase on Amazon in Germany. Pete Lau, the chief executive officer of the tech firm, in Barcelona, announced this yesterday, and both the phone’s 6GB and 8GB RAM variants are now listed on Amazon Germany. These two handsets landed on Amazon today, but handset had been available in Europe since November through the company’s official website. Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, further clarified in a separate tweet that the retailer will stock the smartphone for delivery, rather than using Amazon’s website as a platform for selling its devices.
The OnePlus 5T was launched in late 2017 and it is powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset from the semiconductor manufacturer Qualcomm. The OnePlus 5T sports a 6.01-inch Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 2160 by 1080 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone’s rear cameras are equipped with one 16-megapixel snapper and one 20-megapixel shooter, while the front-facing selfie shooter of the OnePlus 5T has a single 16-megapixel sensor. One of the device’s rear cameras has an aperture size of f/1.7 in order to further boost the low-light performance of the rear shooter. To keep the lights on, the handset includes a 3,300mAh battery, and it supports the Dash Charge fast charging solution in order to quickly top-up the device. There are two hardware variants of the smartphone. One of the hardware variants contains 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage while the other model sports 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal flash storage.
OnePlus has been growing steadily over the past couple of yeras, and India has managed to become one of OnePlus’ main markets. Smartphones released by the device maker accounted for around 48 percent of the total high-end smartphones sales in that Asian country in the fourth quarter of 2017, and that represents a huge growth for OnePlus in India compared to the same period last year. OnePlus is expected to introduce its next flagship, the OnePlus 6, in mid-2018, most probably in June, as the OnePlus 5 was announced in June 2017. The OnePlus 6 is rumored to sport a notch at the top of the display, though it remains to be seen if those rumors are accurate or not.
UPDATE: article has been updated in order to reflect the fact that both variants of the OnePlus 5T are now available via Amazon Germany.
