Sony has launched the XF90 TV series in Europe, and according to the OEM the entire lineup consisting of three models should now be in stock at major authorized retailers across the old continent. The LED-based Sony XF90 series was originally introduced earlier in January at CES in Las Vegas along with the OLED-powered AF8 lineup and promises High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities as well as a 4K resolution.
The XF90 models are powered by the Android TV platform, which means that they offer access to Google Play services as well as popular streaming solutions including Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video and more. As far as hardware is concerned, the 4K HDR panel is driven by Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme real-time image processing unit, and also worth mentioning is the inclusion of a new addition from Sony bearing the name of X-Motion Clarity. According to the OEM, this technology helps with rendering fast-moving objects by minimizing blur without costing brightness. Contrast is handled by Sony’s own X-tended Dynamic Range Pro 6x technology which, as the name suggests, promises up to six times higher contrast compared to conventional TVs employing LED display technology. Lastly, Sony claims that the XF90 models were designed to be fully compatible with its own HT-XF9000 Dolby Atmos sound bar which, much like the TV series at hand, was officially announced earlier this year at CES.
The Sony XF90 series comes in three sizes including 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch models, and evidently, each model carries a different price tag. The smaller solution is now available in some European countries for the price of €1,999, while in the UK the product is available for £1,699. The larger 65-inch model is available from authorized retailers in Europe for the price of €2,699, or for £2,299 in the UK, specifically. Finally, the largest 75-inch variant costs €4,699 in markets across the old continent, whereas prospective customers in the UK are able to acquire a unit for the price of £3,999. It’s worth noting that the XF90 series is known as the X900F in the United States where the lineup consists of five models in different sizes, including a 49-inch as well as an 85-inch variant with prices ranging from $1,099 to $6,999.
