A new promotional video for the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S has been released on the Chinese streaming platform MiaoPai. The new video confirms that the upcoming handset from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset from the semiconductor company Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 845 SoC is comprised of an octa-core Kryo 385 64-bit CPU and the Adreno 630 GPU. When the chipset was unveiled in December 2017, Qualcomm mentioned that the Snapdragon 845 offers improvements in power efficiency, cellular connectivity, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, camera, and security. Aside from confirming the chipset that will power the upcoming handset, the video did not provide additional information regarding the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S.

Earlier leaks and reports already detailed the design and specifications of the handset. A recent leak mentioned that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will sport a 6.01-inch display with a resolution of 2160 by 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device is also rumored to utilize an in-display fingerprint scanner. Recent reports indicate that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will sport 8GB of RAM, although there is still a possibility that the device maker will also release a variant of the device that includes 6GB of RAM. At least one model of the device will contain 256GB of internal flash storage, a previous leak stated, although there is no word yet on whether or not the device will support expandable storage. The front-facing camera is rumored to sport a single 16-megapixel sensor. The handset is expected to contain a 4,400mAh battery to keep its lights on, although a leaked firmware of the device indicated that the smartphone may instead sport a smaller 3,400mAh nonremovable battery.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is rumored to sport a nearly bezel-less design, while a notch near the upper right corner of the smartphone contains the front-facing selfie sensor. Previous reports also mention that the device will likely be made from metal and glass. The chief executive officer of the smartphone manufacturer, Lei Jun, has already confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be launched on March 27. More information regarding the availability, specifications, and pricing of the handset will likely be unveiled during the launch.
