Xiaomi has just released yet another Mi MIX 2S teaser, and in that image, the company reconfirms the phone’s release date, while it also teases its design. If you take a look at the provided image, you will notice that the phone will get announced on March 27, which is something that we already knew, as the company confirmed it a while back. Now, this image also hints that the phone will not sport a notch, while its bottom bezels will be thicker than its side and top bezels, as only the bottom bezel is not shown in the image Xiaomi provided.
This probably means that the phone will resemble its predecessor, the Mi MIX 2, quite a bit, but it will probably offer thinner bezels than the Mi MIX 2, including its ‘chin’ below the display. If you take a look at the city shown in the provided image, you will notice that this is Shanghai, well, some of you will. This is quite interesting, actually, considering that this is more or less a confirmation that the phone will be announced in Shanghai, not Beijing, which is not something we’re used to seeing from Xiaomi. This China-based company almost always hosts its press conferences in Beijing, so this is a nice change of pace, and an interesting move at the same time. A front-facing camera will probably be included below the display on the Mi MIX 2S, as was the case with front-facing snappers of both the Mi MIX and Mi MIX 2.
If an image, which leaked yesterday, is to be believed, the Mi MIX 2S will sport a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on its back. This dual camera setup actually resembles the one on the Redmi Note 5 Pro, and an LED flash will be included in-between those two snappers. A fingerprint scanner will sit on the back of the Mi MIX 2S, while the phone will be made out of metal and glass, though a ceramic unibody variant is a possibility as well. The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core SoC, that much was confirmed by Xiaomi, while the device is also expected to support wireless charging. The Mi MIX 2S will utilize on-screen buttons, and it is quite possible that both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants will be available.
