Known industry insider Evan Blass (@evleaks) has revealed a set of three photos, claiming them to be the 2018 editions of the Huawei Y3, Y5 Prime, and the Y6. The Huawei Y6 (2018) has already been announced by the company, carrying some entry-level specs. The alleged Y3 (2018) seems to be a basic smartphone, considering its dated form factor and a comparatively smaller display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The fingerprint scanner cannot be seen on any of the three devices, a fact further reiterating the possibility of them being budget offerings. A single camera is placed on the Y3’s back along with an LED flash, while a speaker grill is present on its other side.
The Y5 Prime (2018), on the other hand, borrows some design elements from a number of recently launched Huawei and Honor-branded mid-range devices, especially in regards to camera placement. It can be seen sporting an 18:9 display with thin bezels on the top and bottom. The phone’s body is apparently made of metal, but the chances of it being polycarbonate cannot be ruled out entirely. The last photo in the list is of the Huawei Y6 (2018), which, as already said, was announced by Huawei last week. While its detailed specifications are at hand, Huawei has yet to announce its availability and pricing details.
Huawei included a 5.7-inch display into the Y6 (2018), with the phone supporting an HD+ resolution of 1,440 by 720 pixels amounting to an 18:9 aspect ratio. The octa-core Snapdragon 450 fuels the device and ships with the Adreno 506 GPU. The variant announced by the Chinese brand features 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and comes running Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Weighing 150 grams, the handset has a 3,000mAh battery inside its 7.8mm thick body. Despite its camera housing looking to contain two sensors, the Android smartphone has a single 13-megapixel module, along with a 5-megapixel sensor on the front. It will be available in three color options – Black, Blue and Gold.
