Moto G6 Plus Component Leak Confirms 18:9 Aspect Ratio

The LCD panel and front glass assembly said to belong to the Moto G6 Plus leaked online earlier this month, seemingly confirming earlier reports claiming that the Moto G6 Plus will sport a 5.93-inch display with a resolution of 2,160 by 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The logo of the device maker and the front-facing fingerprint scanner are both located below the screen of the handset, while the cutouts for the front-facing selfie camera, earpiece, front LED flash, and other sensors are placed near the top of the phone.

Earlier leaks have already provided details regarding the specifications of the Moto G6 Plus. Reports indicate that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 630 chipset from Qualcomm. This SoC is comprised of an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 508 GPU. It has also been reported that the upcoming smartphone will ship with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage. The handset should sport a dual-camera setup entailing a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel module. The front-facing selfie camera, on the other hand, will have a 16-megapixel sensor, and the handset is expected to feature a 3,250mAh non-removable battery. Renders leaked last February show that the handset will be made of metal and glass, and it has also been reported that the device will be available in five color options – Silver, Gold, White, Blue, and Cyan. Software-wise, it is expected that the Moto G6 Plus will ship with a lightly modified Android 8.0 Oreo build. Despite the presence of a front-facing fingerprint scanner, the device will reportedly utilize on-display navigation buttons.

It is not yet clear when the smartphone manufacturer will launch the Moto G6 Plus, although it is likely that the smartphone will become available in the coming weeks, with the company already confirming its first 2018 products will debut this month. Aside from the Moto G6 Plus, Motorola is also expected to launch two other Moto G6-branded handsets this spring – the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play. The Moto G6 will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 450, while the Moto G6 Play should be equipped with the Snapdragon 425 chip.
