The rumored Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus smartphones have popped up in the database of the United States Federal Communications Commission, revealing some of their hardware specs in the process of doing so. According to the source, a device with the model number XT1924-3 which is believed to be the Moto E5 ships with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 chipset, whereas a phone whose variants include the XT1924-4 and XT1924-5, possibly the larger Moto E5 Plus, utilizes the Snapdragon 430 silicon.
While the FCC did not reveal further details about what users can expect from the upcoming Moto devices, recent leaks and renders provide more information about the devices’ specs. In addition to the chipset details, press renders of the Moto E5 Plus and the Moto E5 have been recently leaked by industry insider Roland Quandt, offering some information about some color variants of the two handsets. According to the leak, the Moto E5 Plus will supposedly come in gold and black color variants while the Moto E5 will allegedly be available in gold and gray options with a black front on the latter variant. In terms of the design, the leaked images indicate that the Moto E5 Plus will include two cutouts on its back panel, though it is understood that the device is likely to ship with a single rear camera. Meanwhile, the Moto E5 will come with a single cutout on the rear panel and a typical LED flash below its rear camera, which also applies to the larger variant. It also appears that both Android devices will feature an 18:9 display and include front-facing flash units.
Earlier this month, AndroidHeadlinesexclusively reported that the Moto E5 will sport a 5.7-inch display that the Lenovo-owned company will advertise as a “Max Vision” panel. The Moto E5 will also boast a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus support and ship with a 4,000mAh battery. It is likely to run a minimally modified build of Android 8.0 Oreo at launch.
