Nubia has just announced a new smartphone, the Nubia Z18 Mini, as expected. Having said that, the Nubia Z18 Mini is the company’s new mid-range smartphone, and it actually sports really thin bezels. The phone’s display comes with rounded corners, and a dual camera setup is included on the back of the phone, along with a fingerprint scanner. The device, in general, resembles the OnePlus 5T quite a bit, and the company’s logo is included on the back of the phone.
Now, unlike the OnePlus 5T, the Nubia Z18 Mini is made out of metal and glass, it does not offer a metal unibody build. The device features a 5.7-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) InCell display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core processor, while it also packs in 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of native storage. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the device, along with the company’s custom UI, Nubia UI. 24-megapixel (f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, CAF) and 5-megapixel snappers are included on the back of the device, along with a dual-tone LED flash, while a single 8-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, 80-degree wide-angle lens) is placed on the phone’s front side. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also included in this package, while the same can be said for a TAS2555 smart amplifier. A 3,450mAh non-removable battery comes inside of this smartphone, along with fast charging, while a Type-C USB port sits on the bottom of the device.
The Nubia Z18 Mini features face unlocking, it uses its front-facing camera for that, and it can scan up to 106 facial points. The device also includes a NeoSmart AI engine, in case you were wondering. Now, the phone comes in Black, White, Blue, and Pink color variants, while its 64GB RAM variant is priced at 1,799 Yuan ($286). The phone’s 128GB storage model costs 2,099 Yuan ($334), while the Limited Provence Edition with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in Purple color costs 2,199 Yuan ($349) in China. The phone will be available for pre-order starting today, and it will become available for purchase in China starting on April 19.
