Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus Leaks In New Live Photo & Sketch

The unannounced Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus has once again popped up online through unofficial channels, this time in the form of a live photo coupled with a sketch detailing the back panel. The images reconfirm the overall design along with the inclusion of a vertically-aligned dual camera setup which seemingly shares the same enclosure as the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. An LED flash also resides on the back, and the same antenna stripes at the top and bottom are visible just as before, lending weight to the idea that the phone adopts a unibody metal design. Lastly, the device seems to carry a power key on the right edge, as well as a couple of volume buttons on the opposite side, while the bottom edge appears to accommodate a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone, and a microUSB port – or possibly a USB Type-C connector, judging by a series of previous renders.

The Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus has been the subject of numerous leaks and rumors over the past couple of months, so while the OEM is still keeping quiet about the device, each new leak seems to push the smartphone closer to its eventual release. The unit was spotted earlier this year in the Geekbench browser benchmark where several hardware components were uncovered, and since then the device seems to have amassed a handful of certifications from regulatory agencies including the FCC, the Wi-Fi Alliance, and more recently the Taiwanese National Communications Commission where it’s been revealed that the device – or some variants, at least – should feature dual SIM capabilities.

While the smartphone’s availability still remains a mystery, previous reports have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus, along with the standard Galaxy A6 variant will first hit the market in India, after which both models will likely expand their reaches into additional regions. But regardless of where it will launch first, the Galaxy A6 Plus is expected to rock an elongated 18:5:9 display with a resolution of 2220 by 1080 pixels, and should rely on the Snapdragon 625 chipset from Qualcomm. On the other hand, the standard model is rumored to adopt one of Samsung’s own chipset solutions, namely the Exynos 7870 SoC. Both models are expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, with the OS being covered by the OEM’s proprietary Samsung Experience firmware.
