A render depicting what’s said to be Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy J7 Duo (2018) leaked online earlier this week, having originally emerged on Chinese social media. The image seen above is hence the first supposed sighting of the presumably low-end device that appears to feature the same look utilized by the majority of Samsung‘s other offerings in the entry-level price bracket released in recent years. The handset hence boasts regular-sized bezels and a 16:9 screen, as well as a physical Home button flanked by capacitive system navigation keys. The South Korean tech giant will possibly advertise the device as a selfie-oriented product, with its single-lens front camera being accompanied by what appears to be a dual-LED (dual-tone) flash unit.
According to a recently leaked manual, the Galaxy J7 (2018) lineup will feature support for Bixby, Samsung’s artificial intelligence assistant which debuted alongside the Galaxy S8 series last year and has been featured on every flagship and some mid-range devices from the company released ever since. Unlike the firm’s high-end products, the upcoming entry-level handset doesn’t appear to feature a physical Bixby button beneath its volume keys, with the overall look of its user interface being indicative of Samsung Experience based on either Android Oreo or Nougat, with the aforementioned manual pointing toward the former. The Home button found on the Galaxy J7 Duo (2018) is expected to double as a fingerprint recognition sensor, whereas the handset itself will be powered by the Exynos 7885 and boast a dual-camera setup featuring a 13-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel unit on its rear plate, as per previous reports.
The front-facing imaging system of the Android smartphone is said to be of the 5-megapixel variety, whereas its screen should be a 5-inch affair with an HD resolution of 1,280 by 720 pixels. The device is expected to be officially announced later this spring and be available for purchase on a global level, though its dual-SIM variant may not make its way to all of Samsung’s Western markets, as suggested by the OEM’s recently employed product practices.
