The alleged Meizu 16 has just surfaced, following the leak of its backplate. Now, if you take a look at the provided image, instead of just its backplate, you will see a back side of the phone itself, and this design goes hand-in-hand with the backplate that surfaced the other day. As you can see, the phone’s back side is made out of glass, while it’s also curved on the sides, while two vertically-aligned cameras are included here, right above a ring flash. Those two cameras are not flush with the phone’s back side, they protrude a bit, and it seems like volume buttons are placed on the left side of this phone. This seems to be a blue version of the device, it’s a dark blue color, based on this image.
The Meizu 16 is expected to become Meizu’s new flagship handset, and the company’s founder, Huang Zhang, more or less confirmed that the Meizu 16-series handset will arrive “around August”. The Meizu 16 is expected to become Meizu’s first ‘bezel-less’ smartphone, it will probably sport some bezel on it, but those bezels will be extremely thin, in line with other flagships that have surfaced this year. Meizu did introduce the Meizu 15 and 15 Plus handsets recently, which are its most powerful devices to date, but those two devices have plenty of bezels above and below the display, not to say that the more powerful variant, the Meizu 15 Plus, comes with the Exynos 8890, Samsung’s flagship SoC for 2017. The upcoming Meizu 16 is expected to include the Exynos 9810 or the Snapdragon 845, at least 6GB of RAM on the inside, while an OLED display had also been mentioned in some rumors.
The design of the Meizu 16’s back side has seemingly been revealed in an image that leaked today, and the front side of the phone will probably resemble the Galaxy S8 and S9, at least based on the smartphone design patent that Meizu trademarked quite recently. The phone’s display will sport rounded corners, and bezels will be almost non-existent if those patent sketches are to be believed.
