The Vivo X21 FIFA World Cup Extraordinary Edition will become available to consumers starting May 22. The limited version of the device will be released by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer in celebration of the FIFA World Cup 2018 that will be held in Russia and will be available in two color options – red and blue. The rear panel of the handset is adorned with the logo of the FIFA World Cup 2018 and illustrations inspired by the Russian culture.
Aside from the differences in the design of the device, the Vivo X21 FIFA World Cup Extraordinary Edition will likely sport the same hardware specifications and software features as the Vivo X21. The Vivo X21 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset from Qualcomm and has a 6.28-inch display with a resolution of 2,280 by 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9, as well as a notch. The special edition of the Vivo X21 sports an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is found near the bottom of its screen. This variant of the Vivo X21 includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage expandable via a microSD card by up to 256GB. The handset sports four cameras, two at both sides. The twin rear cameras are 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel affairs, while the front-facing ones utilize two 12-megapixel sensors.
The Vivo X21 ships with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed, although the Chinese device maker’s proprietary skin, FunTouch OS, runs on top of Google’s operating system. The FunTouch OS sports features like face beautification technology and the tech firm’s personal assistant Jovi. The primary role of Vivo’s personal assistant is to assist users in controlling and navigating the device. There is no available information regarding the pricing of the special edition of the Vivo X21, although the variant with an in-display fingerprint sensor already ships with a price tag of around $505.
