Earlier today, AndroidHeadlinesshared a render of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse 2 bound for Verizon. Following which, AndroidHeadlines can also now share a render of another upcoming Samsung smartphone en route to the same carrier, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Aero. Like the Galaxy J3 Eclipse 2, the Galaxy J7 Aero’s render once again highlights a June 28 date, adding more weight to the suggestion that Verizon and/or Samsung will be announcing a number of devices by this date, if not before.
The Galaxy J7 Aero is expected to be Verizon’s flavor of the Galaxy J7 (2018), an updated Samsung phone for this year that has yet to be announced. The existence of the Galaxy J7 Aero was previously made public via a leak in March along with the model number SM-J737V. It is this model number which primarily explains the nature of this phone as the Galaxy J7 (2017) came with the SM-J727 identifier attached. Therefore, it is highly expected this will just be the Verizon version of the Galaxy J7 (2018) with little to nothing changed. Speaking of a lack of change, like the Galaxy J3 Eclipse 2 and its predecessor, this latest render suggests there will be little novelties on offer with the Galaxy J7 Aero compared to the Galaxy J7 (2017).
Overall, the design seems to be identical when looking both smartphones from the front, with almost no change whatsoever other than the volume buttons which seem to be a little more separated on the newer model. The same lack of change seems likely to be in effect when it comes to the specs as well. As a recent Geekbench listing for the Galaxy J7 (2018) suggested this phone will come loaded with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, putting it directly on par with last year’s model. Although the same listing did indicate the inclusion of an Exynos 7885 SoC, which would suggest an upgrade in the processor department, along with newer software thanks to the inclusion of Android 8.0 (Oreo). It is worth noting the benchmark listing was for a slightly different variant (SM-J737P), although it is expected that the models will not differ much in terms of the specs, if at all.
