HMD Global Sells All Its Nokia X6 Devices In Ten Seconds

The Nokia X6 smartphone sold out in just ten seconds after the sales period for the device kicked off in China today. This was revealed by Nokia‘s official account on Chinese social networking site Weibo. It is also understood that about 700,000 individuals in the country pre-ordered the device prior to its official market release, as indicated by the combined data from online retail stores JD and Suning. As the Nokia X6 has been sold out, consumers in China will have to wait until May 30 when HMD Global is expected to re-stock the phones.

HMD Global officially introduced the handset last week and it has since gained much traction among consumers in China, as suggested by its robust sales performance. The Nokia X6 includes a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on the back, thin bezels, and a notch at the top of the display. To boot, the Nokia X6 is HMD Global’s first X-branded handset. It also offers artificial intelligence-based camera features such as portrait and scene recognition modes. The phone sports a 5.8-inch fullHD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 2280 x 1080-pixel resolution, with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 screen protection. It is powered by the Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor paired with either a 4GB or 6GB of RAM, with the 4GB RAM model coupled with either 32GB or 64GB of storage, while the 6GB RAM variant comes with 64GB of storage. On the optics side, the Nokia X6 boasts 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras on the back, while a 16-megapixel camera sits on the phone’s front panel. It comes with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed on the device and a 3,060mAh battery, which supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. The device is available to purchase in several color options which includes Black, Blue, and Silver color variants.

For those of you who are wondering whether HMD Global plans to roll out the smartphone outside of China, the Finland-based startup has yet to announce any such move. However, the company’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, recently started a poll on Twitter to see whether consumers outside of the country are interested in the device, with more than 6,000 people voting “yes,” indicating that the company might consider the results as a sign to launch the Nokia X6 in other markets.
