LG Partners With Xperi For DTS:X Integration On G7 ThinQ

LG has partnered with Xperi Corporation for DTS:X integration on the G7 ThinQ. LG’s latest flagship device will feature an exclusive DTS:X audio solution which is also Xperi’s latest solution for high-quality audio on mobile devices. According to Xperi’s announcement the technology was specially optimized for the LG G7 ThinQ which means the sound coming out of the speakers should be pretty upscale because the technology was designed with LG’s newest smartphone in mind.

The software will come with a multi-channel codec and a suite of advanced audio solutions that can be managed on the device though there wasn’t much detail on the different audio solutions themselves. The DTS:X audio enhancements are meant to be enjoyed through the phone’s speaker but also through the use of headphones and earbuds so no matter how users choose to listen to audio the experience should be top-quality. This enhanced audio support through Xperi’s exclusive DTS:X solution will be further amplified by the inclusion of the Boombox speaker that LG confirmed prior to the phone’s official announcement, so anyone who values great audio quality are sure to appreciate what the LG G7 ThinQ has on offer in this particular area.

According to LG, the boombox speaker will offer 2x bass, so that paired with the DTS:X support, which will deliver 3D surround-like experiences, activities like movies, TV, games, and music are all not only more immersive but also loud and crystal clear. The G7 ThinQ was initially announced earlier this week, and although there is no pricing that has been mentioned just yet it is due to launch in the U.S. in June, specifically June 1 for Sprint and U.S. Cellular customers, which likely means other carriers will be selling the phone at or around the same time, save for AT&T who is reportedly not going to be selling the phone according to a statement from earlier today.
