OnePlus‘ latest flagship, the OnePlus 6, is said to be launching in a limited edition aimed at fans of the recent Avengers: Infinity War movie, according to past rumors and a recently leaked press render image. The leaked photo shows a OnePlus 6 unit that sports an Avengers logo wallpaper, but is otherwise unchanged in the front. Around the sides and back, however, fans will find a gunmetal rim around the phone with gold buttons. That same black and gold motif exists around back, where a pattern of carbon fiber checkered squares making an array of diagonal lines serves as the backdrop for the phone’s dual camera array and flash, along with a gold OnePlus logo, then a gold Avengers logo near the bottom, flanked by a small bit of gold text bearing the name Marvel.
Information on this special edition device is quite limited for the time being. There does not seem to be pricing information, info on how many will be made or how to get them, or news on any internal specs that may differ from the standard version. With that being the case, it is to be assumed that the phone will be the same as that standard OnePlus 6, sans the changed cosmetic elements. Some extra Avengers-themed goodies may be baked into the software.
To recap, the standard OnePlus 6 comes in a few different colors, all of which have a metal and glass build including a glass back. The controversial notch on the front of the device allows OnePlus to squeeze a massive 6.28-inch display into the phone, at a resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels. Underneath that display lies a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, backed by either 6GB of 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM, depending on the variant bought. Storage ranges from 64GB to 256GB, and cannot be supplemented with a MicroSD card. The dual cameras on the back are 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel units, and the front camera sports a 16-megapixel sensor of its own. A 3,300mAh capacity battery powers the whole show, and is rechargeable via a USB Type-C port equipped with OnePlus’ own Dash Charge technology. You can get your hands on one in Mirror Black, Midnight Black, or Silk White for either $529, $579, or $629.
