A new tablet device from the device manufacturer Lenovo has passed through the certification process of the Federal Communications Commission. This tablet is identified with the model number TB-X104F, and it will reportedly succeed the Lenovo Tab 10, which was launched by the device maker back in November 2016. The documents submitted by the Chinese tech firm to the telecommunications regulator provided a few details regarding the specifications of the device. According to reports, the tablet may include 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal flash storage, although it is not clear if the device will support internal storage expansion using a microSD card. The test documents also state that the tablet will include a 4,850mAh battery to keep its lights on, which is considerably smaller than the 7,000mAh battery that is contained inside the device’s predecessor. The tablet will also sport connectivity features like support for 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, and GPS.
The test documents submitted by Lenovo also included an illustration which shows the rear panel of the device. The diagram shows tablet will sport a single rear camera, while the back panel contains the Dolby ATMOS logo, which means that like other Lenovo devices, the upcoming tablet will also feature Dolby Audio support. The 3.5mm headphone jack is located on the right side of the device, while on the opposite side, users may find the microUSB port, the power button, and the volume rocker. The test documents also mention that the tablet will be equipped with a front-facing selfie shooter.
The recent certification of the tablet could mean that the device will be sold in the United States in the near future, although there is no clear information on when the tablet will be launched in the North American country. It should be noted that the Lenovo Tab 10 was marketed as an entry-level device, and it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chipset, which has a quad-core CPU running at a maximum frequency of 1.3GHz. The Chinese tech firm is also reportedly working on an updated version of the Lenovo Yoga Book, at least according to a certification that was recently released by Bluetooth SIG.
