LG G7 ThinQ Gets Disassembled Following The Durability Test

The LG G7 ThinQ got durability-tested a couple of days ago, and now the phone’s teardown surfaced as well, from the same source. JerryRigEverything YouTube channel published the aforementioned video, and before we begin talking about it, it’s worth saying that the phone did really well in the durability test. The teardown video is embedded down below, and the video’s duration is about 7 minutes.

This phone does not come with a removable back, so you’ll have to apply some heat on the back of the device, use a suction cup after that, and do your best to pull the back side apart from the rest of the phone. Do keep in mind that the adhesive is holding it together, so you’ll need a pick (some sort of thin pry tool) for the sides. The rear-facing fingerprint scanner does not have a ribbon cable here, which means you won’t be able to accidentally cut it while opening up the phone. There are seven screws located in the upper portion of the device, on the inside, and seven on the bottom, all of which you’ll need to remove if you’d like to fully disassemble the LG G7 ThinQ.

Once you remove all the screws, you’ll be able to remove those plastic protectors that are placed on top of the mainboard, and the bottom part of the device. Along with the upper plastic portion, you will also be able to remove the wireless charging connection. At that point, you will be able to unplug the battery, and you will get access to the phone’s cameras, and its mainboard, along with all the connectors in the lower portion of the device. In its video, Jerry gives out plenty of info regarding the phone’s internals, and if you need to replace a portion of the device, or something of the sort, you can always watch the whole video, as it’s rather detailed. For those of you who do not know, the LG G7 ThinQ is LG’s flagship smartphone, the device was announced back in May, and it’s a direct successor to the LG G6.
